Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)

Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)

The 2040 Regional Transportation Plan was adopted on October 27, 2015 by the Southeast Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC).  Click on the image to download the document.

SEFTC facilitates transportation planning by engaging the public and fostering strong partnerships between the three MPOs with other agencies, local governments and communities.  One of SEFTC's most important responsibilities is developing and implementing its Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) in coordination with other regional and local plans, while moving toward an agreed-upon vision for transportation in southeast Florida.  The RTP is updated every five years to adapt to population changes of the region.  Since 2013, the Palm Beach MPO has been a strategic partner in the development of our region's 2040 RTP.  The RTP is consistent with the Palm Beach MPO's adopted Directions 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for Palm Beach County. The RTP is also consistent with the 2040 LRTPs adopted by the Broward MPO and the Miami-Dade MPO for their respective counties. For more information, go to SEFTC.org.

On the morning of Nov. 6, 2015, the Palm Beach MPO held an event at the Boca Raton Tri-Rail station that served as the first of three station platform events that day to promote a new long range regional transportation plan (RTP) by the Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade MPOs, with a horizon year of 2040.  The regional partnership of the three MPOs - the Southeast Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC) - adopted the 25-year transportation vision for the region on Oct. 27, 2015.  Each of the three public events included transportation agency speakers, light refreshments and a raffle.
