Bicycle, Greenways, Pedestrian Advisory Committee - BGPAC

Palm Beach MPO's Bicycle, Greenways, Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BGPAC) is responsible for advising and informing the MPO Board regarding bicycle and pedestrian issues in Palm Beach County. This committee has worked hard for more than a year to develop a new Master Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan which was approved by the MPO Board at their March 17, 2011 meeting.

The purpose of this plan is to provide a foundation on which future decisions regarding bicycle transportation will be based, including both long and short range strategies and actions that will most efficiently integrate bicycling into the overall multi-modal transportation system in Palm Beach County, FL.

Public involvement was key in the development of this plan, beginning with a series of regional public meetings held throughout the county in April 2010. A draft plan was presented at a public open house in December 2010, and posted online with a request for public comments for more than 30 days in December 2010 and January 2011. The resulting Final Plan posted below takes into consideration all feedback received from the public. After review by the Technical Assistance Committee and the Citizens Advisory Committee, this plan was approved by the MPO Board at their meeting of March 17, 2011.
