Chain of Lakes BLUEWAY Trails Project

The vision is to install a boat lift and portage system along the C-51 canal between West Palm Beach and Lake Worth to provide two-way access for small boats and watercrafts between the Atlantic Ocean, Intracoastal and the chain of 23 inland lakes that run through Palm Beach County.

Intracoastal Waterway

The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) represents one of Palm Beach County's most identifiable marine destinations. Roughly 43 miles in Palm Beach County, the ICW serves as a regional connector between 23 of the County's municipalities.

The Intracoastal Waterway Plan for Palm Beach County: Charting a Course for the Future (2009) is a master plan developed for the Palm Beach MPO by the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council. This plan was created with the guidance of a project steering committee and with public input generated during a public planning charrette conducted in May 2008.The Palm Beach MPO adopted a resolution on September 16, 2010 supporting the Intracoastal Waterway Plan for Palm Beach County.
