GO GREEN WITH VANPOOL TODAY!
AND $AVE , $AVE , $AVE

With all the talk about gas prices, highway and street congestion, and calculating carbon footprints, driving our personal vehicles to work each day becomes a mind-boggling event. After forty-plus years of encouraging 'green-living' by a small segment of the population, America is now embarking on a full-scale effort nationwide to reduce the amount of carbon each individual produces daily. All it takes is changing some lifestyle behavior. That's where Vanpools step up to the front of the line.

Impressive data shows that Palm Beach County is doing its part with 37 active vanpools currently in place. That means a savings of 10,416 commuter trips per month and 124,992 annually; a total of 5,056,404 highway miles eliminated annually and 200,651 gallons of fuel saved each year. And what about that carbon footprint? An annual reduction of 2,049 TONS in carbon dioxide are realized. All of that with just 37 active vanpools! Palm Beach County could be a leader in the nation if commuters would consider the benefits, both financial and environmental, of forming a vanpool or a carpool to contribute toward becoming a "green" county.

The MPO wants to encourage you to think about vanpools and/or carpools as an alternative for your transportation needs. Become part of the solution and jump into the pool "vanpool or carpool" by contacting the MPO at 561.478.5743 or email Patricia Cox at patricia.cox@vpsiinc.com for further information, or follow the links listed in the top-left corner of this page.
